Documents List

Applying for a UK student visa requires careful preparation and submission of specific documents. Below is a comprehensive list of the necessary documents:

Valid Passport

  • A current passport or other valid form of identification for travel is essential. ​

Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS)

  • A reference number issued by your chosen UK educational institution confirming your acceptance. ​

Unconditional Offer Letter:

  • An unconditional offer letter was sent by the university authorities to you. 

Accommodation Booking:

  • The confirmation of the accommodation you have managed there. 

Flight Booking:

  • You have to show the air ticket booking confirmation.

Proof of Financial Support

  • Evidence demonstrating sufficient funds to cover tuition fees and living expenses during your stay. ​The bank statement must be 28 days old. 

Tuberculosis (TB) Test Results

  • Tuberculosis test results (mandatory for South Asian countries)

Academic Technology Approval Scheme (ATAS) Certificate

  • For those planning to pursue a master's or research degree in science or technology and coming from outside Europe, this ATAS paper may be required for the visa.​

Proof of English Language Proficiency

  • Evidence of meeting the English language requirements, such as IELTS or equivalent tests.

Passport-sized Photographs

  • Recent color photographs meet the specified dimensions and background requirements. ​

Parental or Guardian Consent (If Under 18)

  • Written consent from parents or legal guardians, including proof of relationship, if the applicant is under 18.

Previous Educational Certificates

  • Academic transcripts and certificates from previous studies. ​

Translations of Documents

  • Certified translations must be provided if documents are not in English or Welsh. ​

If you're under 18

If a young person is under 18, they need a written 'yes' from both parents. If only one parent is legally in charge, then just their 'yes' is required.
