Master’s
The Computer Science (IT) Master's program at Aalborg University is a 2-year, full-time, English-taught program designed for both Danish and international students interested in programming, software engineering, machine intelligence, data management, and embedded systems. The "IT" stands for "International Track," distinguishing it from the Danish-taught Computer Science program.
The program aims to deepen students' skills in advanced areas of computer science and IT, offering specializations in Information Technology (IT) or Computer Science (CS) starting from the second semester. The curriculum includes core courses, electives, and project work using a problem-based learning (PBL) model, where students engage in group projects related to real-world problems to build both theoretical knowledge and practical expertise.
Students gain comprehensive knowledge in programming paradigms, machine learning, software innovation, agile software engineering, database technology, distributed systems, human-computer interaction, and verification techniques. The final semester is devoted entirely to a master’s thesis project.
Admission requires a relevant bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields, with proof of English proficiency. The program prepares graduates for diverse roles such as system developers, IT architects, project managers, system administrators, and consultants across various sectors including IT, mobile communications, space aeronautics, and health technology.
This program offers a strong foundation for careers in research and industry by combining rigorous academics with extensive project experience in an international environment.
