Temporary Graduate Visa (Subclass 485)
This is typically your first step after completing your studies. The Temporary Graduate visa allows you to live, work, and study in Australia temporarily after graduation. Depending on your qualification and location of study, you can stay for 2-4 years, giving you valuable time to gain Australian work experience and improve your PR eligibility.
Skilled Independent Visa (Subclass 189)
This points-based visa doesn't require employer sponsorship, making it ideal for graduates with in-demand skills. You'll need to submit an Expression of Interest and be invited to apply. Your points are calculated based on age, English proficiency, work experience, educational qualifications, and other factors.
Skilled Nominated Visa (Subclass 190)
Similar to the 189 visa, but you need nomination from an Australian state or territory. This option can be advantageous as state nomination provides additional points toward your application.
Employer Nomination Scheme (Subclass 186)
If you've secured employment with an Australian company willing to sponsor you, this direct pathway to PR becomes available. Many of my former students have successfully used this route after proving their value to employers during their post-study work period.
