The MSc in Human Biology at the University of Copenhagen is a 2-year, highly research-oriented interdisciplinary program taught in English. It offers advanced theoretical and experimental training in human biology, focusing on integrated and mechanism-oriented cell biology, pathophysiology, and pharmacology. Students gain a comprehensive understanding of the human organism in both health and disease through a combination of mandatory courses, elective courses, laboratory exercises, and an extensive research thesis. The program prepares graduates for careers in biomedical research, the pharmaceutical industry, healthcare, and academia, with a strong foundation for pursuing PhD studies.

The program emphasizes practical skills in laboratory work and research, including animal science and experimental techniques, often conducted in collaboration with hospitals, biotech firms, and research institutions both in Denmark and internationally. More than half of the graduates continue to PhD studies or advance in research-intensive careers.
