Course Structure

The DHSc comprises a combination of taught courses (120 points) and a thesis (240 points) which will develop your professional understanding and expertise in leadership, research, implementation, evaluation and professional practice.

Starting in Semester One each year, you will complete four courses in the following order:

HLTHSCI 801 - Healthcare Strategy and Planning (30 points). This course must be taken in Semester One of your first year of enrolment. 

HLTHSCI 800 - Research in Action (30 points)

HLTHSCI 802 - Critical Synthesis of Health Issues (30 points)

HLTHSCI 803 - Research Proposal (30 points)

HLTHSCI 897A - Thesis (120 points) 

HLTHSCI 897B - Thesis (120 points)

Total: 360 points

Please note:

HLTHSCI 801 to HLTHSCI 803 are part-time only
HLTHSCI 897 can be undertaken as either a part-time or full-time course. 

Entry Requirement

Academic

Master’s degree in Health Sciences, Public Health, or related discipline

Language

IELTS - Minimum score of 6.5, no band below 6.0

PTE - Minimum score of 58, no communicative skills below 50

TOEFL - Minimum score of 90, with no section below 20
