The Sustainability Management programme offered at University of Southern Denmark Business School in Esbjerg equips you with the knowledge and skills to lead companies and organizations toward more sustainable practices, contributing to a more environmentally, socially, and economically conscious future.

Academic requirements

To qualify for admission you need a relevant Bachelor's degree.

Your degree must include a minimum of 75 ECTS within the field of Economics and Business Administration, comprising at least 5 ECTS within each of the following subjects:

  • Microeconomics or Managerial Economics
  • Accounting
  • Corporate Finance
  • Marketing
  • Organizational theory
  • Statistics
  • Methods for collection and analysis of data
    - statistics or other qualitative or quantitative methods, including mathematics or operations research/operations management. Data collection may be included to a minor extend.
  • Theory of Science and Scientific Methodology and Methods
    - the requirement can be replaced by a Bachelor's thesis (15 ECTS) if your degree is from a University

Course Structure

The Master of Science in Economics and Business Administration requires two years of full-time study, each year consisting of four quarters.

The profile in Sustainability Management consists of 60 ECTS compulsory courses of 7.5 ECTS each, 30 ECTS that are electives, and a thesis work corresponding to 30 ECTS.

The 8 compulsory courses are offered in the first four quarters. The electives are typically placed in the fifth and sixth quarters.

Electives can be taken at Campus Esbjerg or abroad or take form as a projectoriented study (internship).

The thesis is to be written during the seventh and eighth quarters.
