Bachelor
The Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in Mathematics at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) offers a comprehensive and rigorous education in both pure and applied mathematics. Designed to develop strong analytical and problem-solving skills, the program covers fundamental subjects such as analysis, linear algebra, discrete mathematics, numerical analysis, probability theory, and statistics. Over the course of six semesters, students develop a deep understanding of mathematical structures and their real-world applications.
The curriculum combines theoretical coursework with practical components, including programming, seminars, and a mandatory professional internship. Students also choose a minor subject from fields such as computer science, physics, economics, or engineering, enabling them to apply mathematical knowledge across various disciplines. Electives and specialization options in advanced mathematics provide academic flexibility, allowing students to pursue their interests.
The program concludes with a Bachelor's thesis, providing research experience and preparation for further studies or a professional career. Graduates are well-qualified for roles in research, technology, finance, data science, or engineering, or for pursuing a Master's degree. Courses are mainly taught in German, with some English modules available.
