Bachelor
The Bachelor of Arts in Economics at Massey University goes beyond basic theory to explore how decisions shape markets and everyday life. You’ll examine how businesses decide what to produce and how many people to employ, how individuals make choices about spending and saving, and how wider economic forces influence global outcomes.
Economics focuses on how limited resources are used to meet different needs. Through this programme, you’ll develop a clear understanding of how choices affect production, distribution, and overall economic performance. This knowledge also helps you interpret changes in the economy and make informed decisions in real-life situations.
The degree offers a flexible structure, allowing you to build a strong base in microeconomics and macroeconomics, while also selecting subjects that match your interests. You can choose from areas such as quantitative methods, international economics, global trade, environmental and resource economics, land economics, and development economics.
Throughout your studies, you’ll strengthen your skills in economic analysis, data interpretation, and critical thinking, preparing you for a wide range of roles in business, policy, and research.
For students interested in economics, global markets, and decision-making, this programme provides a solid academic foundation with the flexibility to shape your own learning path.
