Career outcomes

  • You graduate with job-ready skills in advanced process control concepts and implementation topics used in industrial automation, including distributed control systems (DCS), PLC, and SCADA-style monitoring and control approaches.
  • Your program learning spans instrumentation hardware, signals, and control system design, helping you qualify for roles such as instrumentation and control engineer in manufacturing and industrial process environments.
  • You gain practical, lab-focused competence in areas like installation, calibration, troubleshooting, and modern control-system implementation so you can contribute faster in engineering teams.
  • Because your curriculum covers communication and industrial control system integration, you are better prepared for automation roles that require working with industrial networks and control architectures.
  • Final-year project work plus industrial training helps you build professional experience you can show to employers when applying for engineering technologist and engineering technician pathways.
  • You develop foundations that support progression into supervisory and specialist roles within process control, automation systems, and instrumentation engineering teams.

Employability rate

For instrumentation and control engineering graduates in Malaysia, an employability rate of around 82% and an unemployment rate of about 18% typically reflect strong hiring demand for automation and industrial process control talent, especially in manufacturing and industrial sectors.

Overall, this points to a relatively stable career outlook in Malaysia where qualified graduates are generally well-positioned to find engineering roles tied to instrumentation, control systems, and industrial automation.
