📘 Program Overview

Studying psychology will allow you to gain an in-depth understanding of how we learn, think, feel and adapt to our social environment. The programme covers both normal and abnormal behaviour, and deals with the biological, social and individual factors that affect human psychology.

The programme includes supervised fieldwork, where you can apply your knowledge in a real-world setting, and you will also consider the complex ethical issues that arise throughout your studies. On successful completion, graduates are awarded a degree from Lancaster University in addition to Sunway University.

Year 1 foundation and research skills
  • Build psychology foundations through Introduction to Psychology, History of Psychology, Personality Psychology, Motivation & Emotion, and English for Psychology.

  • Start learning data and methods for evidence-based study using Introduction to Data Analytics and Research Methods in Psychology 1.
Year 2 core psychology and applied community learning
  • Study core theory and application areas including Biological Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Developmental Psychology, and Social Psychology.
  • Develop applied practice and values through Community Services for Planetary Health and Integrity & Anti-corruption.
  • Strengthen research capability with Research Methods in Psychology 2 and clinical foundations including Psychological Disorders and Psychological Testing.
Year 3 advanced practice, counselling, and research project work
  • Advance into applied behavioural and wellbeing approaches with Behaviour Modification, Counselling Psychology, and Positive Psychology.
  • Complete research project work with Research Project 1 and Research Project 2.
  • Gain real-world exposure through Industrial Exposure and choose electives (choose 3) such as Community Mental Health, Cross Cultural Psychology, or Health Psychology.

📝 How to Apply

Check eligibility and prepare documents

Review the programme’s entry requirements, commencement date, and fees before applying. Sunway University instructs international applicants to email the university first to confirm eligibility before submitting an application. Prepare your required documents and ensure they are complete because incomplete applications cannot be processed.

Submit the international application form and required documents

Fill out and submit the International Student Application Form and attach the required documents listed by the International Office. The university specifies items such as a completed application form, completed health declaration form, passport-sized photographs, passport copy, and certified true copies of academic qualifications. Make sure your application and initial payment are submitted to the International Office at least eight (8) weeks before the intake date(s).

Complete initial payments and wait for the offer

After your eligibility is confirmed, proceed with the required payments. The university lists RM 742 Enrolment Fee and RM 3,300 Student Pass/Visa processing fee (paid to EMGS) as part of the international process. Sunway University states that successful applicants receive offer letters via email within 3 working days.

Accept the offer and proceed with Student Pass processing

Accept the offer as detailed in the Letter of Offer and sign and return the Acceptance of Offer to the International Office. Submit any outstanding documents requested in the incomplete record checklist attached to your Letter of Offer, because visa application processing can be delayed if submitted late.
