📝 How to Apply

1

Contact the International Student Office (ISO) and confirm eligibility

International applicants should contact Southern University College’s International Student Office to confirm entry eligibility for the Bachelor of Arts (Honours) English Language Teaching programme. After contact and internal evaluation, the university may issue an offer letter to approved applicants. Use the programme’s listed entry qualifications and English competency requirement as your baseline checklist before applying. This helps prevent delays later during document submission and visa processing.

2

Submit the application documents and application fee

After you submit the application form, the university requests necessary documents by email to the ISO. Applicants must also submit the application fee of RM 500 as part of the application process. Internal evaluation is conducted by the relevant department, faculty, or admissions office. Keep copies of your uploaded or emailed documents for your records.

3

Complete offer acceptance payment and visa approval steps

Once approved, an offer letter is issued, and the applicant is required to submit RM 3,500 as instructed by the university. The ISO then submits documents to Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS) for a Visa Approval Letter (VAL). After VAL is approved, the applicant pays RM 3,500 (Part B) and the first year’s tuition fee to Southern University College. The ISO forwards the VAL to the applicant for the next visa steps.

4

Apply for a visa and complete post-arrival requirements

After receiving the Visa Approval Letter (VAL), the applicant proceeds to the Malaysian embassy for the Single Entry Visa (SEV). Once in Malaysia, the ISO brings the student to a panel clinic for post-arrival medical check-up, which must be completed within 7 days of arrival. The university then proceeds with Immigration Malaysia for Student’s Pass endorsement. After the student’s pass is obtained, the applicant becomes a Southern University College student for the study period.
