The Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen Bachelor of Engineering combines technical knowledge with business expertise. Students learn to analyse technical systems, optimise production and development processes, evaluate economic indicators and prepare well-founded decisions at the interface between engineering and management.
The full-time programme includes engineering, business administration, digital systems, technical English, an integrated practical phase and applied laboratory work. Students also select one specialisation from Industrial Informatics, Logistics or Renewable Energies to build a career-focused professional profile.
The 180 ECTS curriculum combines compulsory engineering, business, digital and methodological modules with an 18 ECTS specialisation, an 18 ECTS practical phase and a 12 ECTS bachelor's thesis and colloquium.

Engineering professionals in Germany had an estimated employability rate of around 95.8% and an unemployment rate of 4.2% in 2025, indicating that qualified graduates continued to experience conditions close to full employment despite weaker economic growth.
Together, these figures point to a strong career outlook for graduates who combine engineering expertise with business, production, digitalisation and management skills.

| Foreign higher secondary qualification | International applicants need a foreign school-leaving qualification that is recognised in Germany as a university entrance qualification or an equivalent admission entitlement. Recognition depends on the applicant's country, qualification and whether the certificate permits university study in the country where it was awarded. |
| Prior recognised university study | Applicants may qualify for direct subject-specific entry through successfully completed semesters at a recognised university in their home country. DIPLOMA's non-EU guidance notes that applicants who have already studied for approximately two to three semesters in their home country may be able to apply directly in the corresponding subject, subject to individual recognition. |
| Studienkolleg and Feststellungsprüfung | When a foreign school qualification does not provide direct university access, the applicant must normally complete a preparatory Studienkolleg pathway and pass the Feststellungsprüfung. Admission to the preparatory route requires the applicable entrance examination and German-language competence at B1 level. |
| Study area | Match possible? | Conditions |
|---|---|---|
| Engineering, technology or industrial studies | Conditional match | Applicants relying on previous university study for direct subject-specific access should have completed recognised study in a field corresponding to the intended engineering programme. DIPLOMA assesses the foreign qualification and prior study individually. |
| Business studies without sufficient technical content | Individual assessment | The programme combines engineering and business subjects, but the university does not publish an automatic direct-entry subject mapping for business-only backgrounds. Recognition and subject-specific access must therefore be confirmed individually. |
| Foreign school qualification without direct German university access | Preparatory pathway | Applicants whose school qualification is not recognised for direct entry normally need a subject-related Studienkolleg pathway and a successful Feststellungsprüfung before beginning the bachelor's degree. |
The programme is taught in German. International applicants need suitable German-language competence, and DIPLOMA's guidance for non-EU applicants states that German at B1 level is required for admission preparation and the Feststellungsprüfung route.

| TestAS | not_required | DIPLOMA presents TestAS as an optional preparation and aptitude-assessment tool for international applicants. It is not stated as a compulsory admission examination for the Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen B.Eng. programme. |
TestAS is not published as a compulsory admission examination for this programme. DIPLOMA's international guidance presents it as an optional tool that can help applicants prepare for an entrance examination and assess their academic aptitude compared with other international applicants.

| Tuition | EUR 14220 / total program | The 36-month payment model consists of 36 monthly tuition instalments of EUR 395. Other official payment models are 48 monthly instalments of EUR 305 or 72 monthly instalments of EUR 215. |
| Examination fee | EUR 695 / one time | A one-time examination fee is charged in addition to the selected tuition payment model. |
International students who require a German student visa must demonstrate that they can finance their living costs. Official federal guidance allows proof through a blocked account, a declaration of commitment, qualifying financial support or another accepted form of financial guarantee.

Confirm whether your foreign school-leaving certificate provides direct or subject-specific university access in Germany. Use the official German qualification-recognition guidance and contact DIPLOMA's Academic International Office when the result is unclear. Applicants with previous recognised university study should also prepare evidence of completed semesters and subjects for individual assessment.
Applicants without direct university entrance eligibility normally need to attend a Studienkolleg or another accepted preparation route and pass the Feststellungsprüfung. Admission to this route may require an entrance examination and German at B1 level. Complete the required preparation before seeking final enrolment in the bachelor's programme.
Collect your passport, curriculum vitae, passport photograph, school certificates, transcripts and any records of previous higher education. DIPLOMA requires documents supporting the university entrance qualification to be submitted as officially certified copies. Include recognised translations when the university requests documents in an accepted language or format.
Complete the official digital registration form for the full-time Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen programme. DIPLOMA states that registration is possible at any time, while the regular full-time study group starts on 1 October. Review every uploaded document carefully and submit the complete application early enough for qualification recognition, admission processing and visa preparation.
Respond promptly if DIPLOMA requests additional evidence or clarification about your foreign qualification. After receiving admission, prepare the financial proof, health-insurance evidence and other documents required by the responsible German mission. Allow sufficient time because student-visa processing can take several weeks or, in individual cases, months.
