📘 Program Overview

The Industrieinformatik pathway is offered as a specialisation within the accredited Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen Bachelor of Engineering programme. It combines engineering, business administration and digital technology so that students can understand technical systems, evaluate commercial factors and improve industrial processes.

The programme develops knowledge in mathematics, physics, materials, electrical engineering, automation, construction, production, accounting, management and business informatics. Students selecting Industrieinformatik additionally study integrated industrial automation, software engineering for industrial applications and IT infrastructure.

The distance-learning format can be completed part-time in seven semesters or full-time in six semesters. Learning is primarily online, with optional seminars at study centres, a compulsory practical phase and nine laboratory days for technical exercises at the Campus Nordhessen.

Career outcomes

  • You develop a rare combination of industrial engineering, business and software expertise, preparing you for roles that connect production teams, IT departments and technical management.
  • You learn to select industrial IT components, develop software for production environments and improve processes through integrated automation, giving you practical skills for Industry 4.0 projects.
  • You can target careers in industrial digitalisation, production IT, automation, technical project management, process optimisation and IT infrastructure.
  • You complete laboratory work and a practical phase, allowing you to demonstrate applied engineering experience rather than graduating with theoretical knowledge alone.
  • You gain an accredited Bachelor of Engineering qualification with an English transcript of records and Diploma Supplement, supporting further study and international career progression.
  • You build foundations in controlling, procurement, production and management that can support progression from technical specialist positions into project, operations and leadership roles.

Employability rate

Industrial engineering and industrial IT graduates in Germany can reasonably be estimated to have an employability rate of around 92% and an unemployment rate of about 8%, reflecting sustained demand for professionals who combine automation, software, production and commercial expertise.

Together, these estimates indicate a strong career outlook across manufacturing, engineering services, industrial digitalisation and technology management.

📝 How to Apply

1

Check your foreign qualification

Review whether your Bangladeshi HSC, A-Level, IB or other school-leaving qualification can provide university entrance eligibility in Germany. DIPLOMA Hochschule requires foreign qualifications to be proven equivalent before admission. Contact the university's study service for an individual assessment because the programme page does not publish a Bangladesh-specific equivalency table. Complete this review before making financial or travel arrangements.

2

Prepare your application documents

Collect your passport, school-leaving certificate, complete mark sheets and any available qualification-equivalency evidence. Documents that are not accepted in their original language may require certified translations. International applicants should also prepare evidence of German-language proficiency because the programme is taught in German. Ensure that scans are complete, clear and consistent with the personal information in your passport.

3

Complete the online registration

Use the official DIPLOMA Hochschule online registration form and select Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen Bachelor of Engineering as the degree programme. Enter your preferred study format and the April or October start date. Upload or submit the requested supporting documents through the process specified by the university. The university accepts registrations throughout the year and does not publish a fixed programme application deadline.

4

Complete the admissions assessment

The university reviews whether your foreign qualification is equivalent and whether all admission conditions have been met. Respond promptly if the admissions team requests additional certificates, translations or language evidence. Do not treat registration as final admission until the university confirms your eligibility. Review the study contract, selected payment model and examination fee before accepting the offer.

5

Arrange finance and visa requirements

After receiving admission confirmation, applicants planning to reside in Germany should follow the German Embassy in Dhaka's student-visa process. Prepare acceptable financial evidence, such as the required blocked account, a scholarship confirmation or a formal declaration of commitment. The distance-learning format may affect whether a German study visa is appropriate, so confirm your attendance arrangement with the university and the responsible German mission. Begin visa preparation early because appointment and processing times can be lengthy.
