📘 Program Overview

Das Fernstudium Frühpädagogik (B.A.) der DIPLOMA Hochschule richtet sich vor allem an ausgebildete und berufserfahrene Erzieher:innen sowie pädagogische Fachkräfte, die sich für Leitungs- und Managementaufgaben in der frühkindlichen Bildung qualifizieren möchten. Der Schwerpunkt liegt auf Führung, Organisation und Qualitätsentwicklung, mit einer Praxisphase als zentralem Bestandteil des Studiums.

Im Fernstudium Frühpädagogik bereitest Du Dich in der Regelstudienzeit auf verantwortungsvolle Positionen in Kindertageseinrichtungen und Institutionen der Frühpädagogik vor und erhältst mit dem Abschluss zusätzlich die Berufsbezeichnung „Staatlich anerkannte:r Kindheitspädagog:in“. Das Studium ist als 100 % Online- oder vor-Ort-Studium (Teilzeit) konzipiert und startet regulär zum 1. April und zum 1. Oktober.

Foundation phase
  • You build pedagogical foundations for early childhood education, including early childhood theory and development, education and upbringing.
  • You learn observation and documentation approaches, including basics of pedagogical diagnostics and documentation for early childhood practice.
  • You start applying scientific work principles that support later analysis of educational questions.
Core practice and management phase
  • You deepen planning and quality-oriented practice with topics such as designing educational quality in institutional contexts.
  • You develop competencies for leadership and coordination, including leadership, personnel development and quality development.
  • You study legal and professional action topics such as education, social and labor law, and teamwork and conflict management.
Practice phase and final assessment
  • You complete the compulsory 100-day practice phase, with an option to credit up to 25 days based on previous experience and current employment context.
  • You integrate learning outcomes across pedagogy, observation/diagnostics, and leadership/management competences for early childhood institutions.
  • You complete final examinations connected to the study program’s assessment structure and earn the B.A. with 180 ECTS.

Curriculum

The 180 ECTS curriculum is designed for applicants with a recognised pedagogical vocational qualification and relevant professional experience. Through recognition of the first five modules, the first two semesters are credited and students normally enter Semester 3, completing the remaining programme over five semesters with leadership, management, professionalisation, a 100-day supervised practice phase, and the Bachelor thesis.
