📘 Program Overview

APU’s Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence is designed to strengthen your advanced skills in artificial intelligence through hands-on learning, industry-driven projects, and applied problem-solving. The programme includes 7 compulsory core modules (including Research Methodology) plus 3 elective modules, and a Project where you conduct research in relation to Artificial Intelligence for both academic and industry purposes.

On successful completion, you will be able to implement AI solutions, work across areas such as Machine Learning, Robotics, and Natural Language Processing, and manage large scale and complex AI projects. The programme also supports further study pathways through advanced research opportunities in artificial intelligence.

Bachelor's degreeInternational applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree. APU accepts a bachelor’s degree in Computing or related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 (or its equivalent), or a minimum CGPA of 2.00 if applicants meet additional internal assessment criteria. Applicants with a bachelor’s degree in non-related fields may be considered with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 together with relevant working experience (subject to internal assessment) or, without relevant working experience, subject to passing pre-requisite modules. Applicants without a Computing-related bachelor’s degree must pass the pre-requisite modules to continue with the Master’s Degree.

📝 How to Apply

Initiate your application online

Submit the APU online application form during the intake period and include your certified true copies of academic qualifications (with English translation where applicable). Upload copies of your English language results (or your exemption supporting documents if applicable) and ensure you clearly indicate the programme and intake date. After you submit complete documents, APU states you will normally receive results in 2–3 working days.

Confirm admission and pay Pre-Arrival Processing Fees

If you meet the eligibility criteria, APU will issue a Letter of Offer. To enable the university to submit your student visa application, you must accept the offer and pay the required Pre-Arrival Application Processing Fees immediately along with the documents listed for visa commencement. APU states these pre-arrival processing fees are non-refundable once the offer has been accepted.

Complete Student Pass (visa) processing with EMGS

After APU receives your complete documents and the international student visa and application fees, the university submits your application to EMGS. APU indicates this process may take about 2–3 weeks when documents and payment are complete. During the visa process, you should avoid entering Malaysia to reduce delays, as advised by the university.
