Request an offer and submit your initial documents

International applicants should apply for the Bachelor’s programme during the published intake period and ensure they specify the programme and intake date. Prepare and submit your documents requested by the university, including copies of English language test results and academic documents, so APU can evaluate eligibility. You will typically receive the outcome after the university receives complete documents.

Confirm admission and pay the required pre-arrival processing fees

If you meet the eligibility criteria, APU will issue a Letter of Offer. To allow APU to submit your student pass application to EMGS, you must confirm enrolment and make the required pre-arrival application processing fee payment as stated by APU. APU indicates that this fee is required immediately after the offer is accepted and is non-refundable once the offer has been accepted.

Student pass processing (EMGS) while you are outside Malaysia

Once the university receives your complete documents together with your international student visa requirements and application fees, it submits your application to EMGS (Education Malaysia Global Services). APU states that processing may take about 2 to 3 weeks if documents are complete and payments are made. APU advises that you should avoid entering Malaysia while your visa is being processed.

Receive your visa approval letter and plan travel

When your Student Pass Approval Letter (VAL) is approved, you will be notified by email or post with the necessary guidance. APU advises you to apply for a Single Entry Visa (SEV) through the Malaysian Embassy or Consulate or via the eVISA portal, supported by the VAL (e-VAL). You should arrive in Malaysia within the guidance window relative to your course commencement and the validity of your e-VAL.
