📝 How to Apply
Initiate your application online
Complete the APU online application form for the bachelor programme and intake date, and upload the required documents. APU states that for undergraduate applications you may apply with forecast results if you are still awaiting final results, and APU may issue a conditional offer based on final grades. APU also advises applying 6–8 weeks in advance of the scheduled intake to support the visa process timeline.
Receive the Letter of Offer and complete pre-arrival steps
After you meet the eligibility criteria, APU will provide a Letter of Offer. To enable APU to submit your student visa application, APU states that you must pay the Pre-Arrival Application Processing Fee of RM 3,600 immediately along with the acceptance and documents listed for visa processing. APU also notes that the Pre-Arrival Application Processing Fees include EMGS visa processing fees and other items for international students, and that it is non-refundable once the offer is accepted.
Student pass processing through EMGS (stage 2)
Once APU receives complete documents together with the International Student Visa and Application Fees, APU will submit the application to EMGS. APU indicates processing may take about 2–3 weeks when documents and payment are complete. APU also advises avoiding entry into Malaysia during visa processing to reduce delays with Malaysian Immigration.
Visa approval, travel planning, and arrival (stage 3)
If your Student Pass Approval Letter (VAL) is approved, APU states you will be notified and you can download the VAL via EMGS. APU requires careful travel planning based on VAL validity and instructs that you should not enter Malaysia earlier than two weeks prior to the commencement date, and should arrive not later than one month before expiry of the e-VAL. APU also outlines Single Entry Visa steps for students who require a visa, including applying through the Malaysian Embassy/Consulate or via the eVISA portal.
