International applicants should submit an online application to APU and include the required academic and identity documents. APU uses the eligibility of admission criteria to assess your application. If your documents are in a language other than English, certified translations may be required for visa processing.
If you meet the eligibility criteria, APU will issue a Letter of Offer. To enable the university to submit your student visa application, you must make the required pre-arrival application processing payment immediately after you accept the offer. APU will then request the remaining items needed to commence visa processing, including passport details and specified photographs.
Once APU receives your complete documents and the International Student Visa and application fees, they submit your application to EMGS. This process may take about 2-3 weeks when documents and payment are complete. APU advises planning so that application forms arrive at least 8 weeks before the intake dates to support early approval.
When the VAL (Visa Approval Letter) is approved, you will receive notifications and instructions for next steps. Plan your travel carefully: APU notes that you should not enter Malaysia during the visa processing period. APU also provides guidance on obtaining a Single Entry Visa through the Malaysian Embassy/Consulate or eVISA portal when applicable, using the student visa approval letter.
