📝 How to Apply

1

Initiate your APU application for the correct programme and intake

Submit the online application on APU’s admissions portal and clearly indicate the programme you are applying for and the intake date. Upload certified true copies of your academic qualification documents (with English translation where applicable) and provide copies of your English test results (for example IELTS/TOEFL/PTE or MUET as applicable). APU recommends applying 6–8 weeks before the scheduled intake so there is sufficient time for the visa process.

2

Receive and confirm your Letter of Offer

If you meet the eligibility criteria, APU issues a Letter of Offer. To confirm your enrolment and enable the university to submit your Student Visa application, you must pay the Pre-Arrival Application Processing Fees immediately along with the documents required for visa processing. This fee includes visa processing via Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS) for international students and other pre-arrival services stated in the APU procedure.

3

Proceed with Student Visa processing (EMGS submission)

After APU receives your complete documents and your international student visa and application fees, APU submits your Student Visa application to EMGS. The processing time is typically stated as taking about 2–3 weeks once complete documents and payment are received. APU advises sending your application forms at least eight weeks before the intake dates for early approval, and advises students to avoid entering Malaysia while the visa is being processed.

4

Obtain your Visa Approval Letter and prepare for arrival

When your Visa Approval Letter (VAL) is approved, APU will notify you via email or post with next steps and guidelines. You then prepare for arrival to Malaysia with your student pass documents and required travel/entry documents, following the instructions provided by APU. APU also provides guidelines related to single entry visa application and ensuring your documentation is complete before you travel.
