| School-leaving qualifications (international students) | Direct entry to Level 1 is available using approved international qualifications such as STPM, A-Level, UEC, or a completed foundation programme (with minimum CGPA as stated on the APU programme entry requirements). For these entry routes, APU also specifies that English and Mathematics passes are required, with possible waivers if your qualifications contain Mathematics and English subjects with equivalent or higher achievement. |
APU requires international applicants to meet the minimum English language proficiency levels below to continue their studies in the main programme. If you do not meet the requirement, you may be allowed to apply for a student visa on a conditional basis and enrol in an English Language Certification programme on arrival in Malaysia, followed by an English proficiency assessment.
MOI waiver details are not published for this programme. See the English test requirements above.

Submit the online application form and upload the required documents for undergraduate study, including certified true copies of your academic qualification (with English translation where applicable). Include copies of English language results (IELTS/TOEFL/PTE etc.) for the university to evaluate your English proficiency. Clearly indicate the programme you are applying for and the intended intake date, and APU typically provides application results after receiving complete documents.
If you meet the eligibility criteria, you will receive a Letter of Offer. After accepting the offer, you must pay the RM 3,600 Stage-1 pre-arrival application processing fee immediately to enable the university to start your student visa application. Along with the payment, provide the documents APU requests for visa processing, including passport copies, certified documents, and your English certification results where applicable.
APU submits your application to EMGS once it receives your complete documents together with the international student visa and application fees. This process may take about 2 to 3 weeks after APU receives complete documents and payment. APU advises you to avoid entering Malaysia while the visa is being processed to reduce the risk of delays or queries.
After your student pass approval letter (VAL) is approved, you will be notified and instructed on the next steps. Prepare your documents for immigration clearance and ensure your passport validity meets the requirement stated by APU. Plan travel so you arrive in Malaysia within the time guidance given after the VAL issuance and before the course commencement.
