📝 How to Apply

1

Step 1: Initiating an online application

Submit the APU online application form during the published application period and include the required documents. For undergraduate applications, APU states you may apply with forecast results if you are still awaiting final results, and you may receive a conditional offer based on achieving specified grades in your final exams. You should clearly indicate the programme you are applying for and the intake date. After receiving complete documents, APU states you will normally receive results in 2–3 working days.

2

Step 2: Confirming admission and enabling Student Visa processing

If you meet the eligibility criteria, APU issues a Letter of Offer. To enable the university to submit your Student Visa application, APU states that you must pay the pre-arrival application processing fee immediately along with the documents stated in the international application procedure page. APU also lists additional items to provide for visa application commencement, such as passport photographs, copies of passport pages, certified academic certificates (and certified translations if not in English), and a health declaration form. APU also instructs you to provide your IELTS/TOEFL/PTE/MUET English certification results as part of the visa-related documentation.

3

Step 3: EMGS Student pass/visa processing

After APU receives your complete documents and the required application/visa processing fees, the university submits your application to EMGS (Education Malaysia Global Services). APU indicates the process may take about 2–3 weeks when documents and payment are complete. APU advises applicants to avoid entering Malaysia during the visa process to prevent delays or queries from Malaysian immigration. You can track the process and download your Visa Approval Letter (VAL) once approved, as described by APU.

4

Step 4: Student arrival and immigration entry steps

Once the VAL is approved, follow APU’s arrival guidance and ensure all travel documents are ready for immigration clearance. APU explains that your Student Pass Approval Letter (e-VAL) is generally valid for six months from issuance and you should plan travel so you arrive in Malaysia not later than one month before the e-VAL expiry. APU also notes it is not permitted to enter Malaysia earlier than two weeks prior to the commencement date of your course. On arrival, APU states that international students must report to EMGS ISAC at the airport for entry assistance before immigration clearance.
