This course looks into the history of the Employment Tribunal, highlighting its transformation from a basic administrative role to a vital platform for maintaining individual rights in the workplace. You will look at the growth of employment law, the transition from collective to individual rights, and how successfully the enforcement model addresses issues such as unfair dismissal, discrimination, and harassment. Additionally, the program looks at the work of the Equality and Human Rights Commission and the difficulties related to the protected characteristics framework in handling workplace inequality.
